Well, it is official Summer is here and we are heading into the best weather period of the year.
Town is full of people milling around. If shopping, eating, and drinking is your thing then you are in luck because Friday Harbor is full of restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, and taverns.
If you are here on a Saturday you have the added feature of the Islands Farmers Market. Experience locally grown flowers, vegetables, as well as meats and eggs. It is an island happening and a great place to get a dose of island culture.

Even though the sun may not be shining every day, you can’t deny that it’s warmer out!
With the solstice right around the corner we will slowly see night fall a bit earlier each day. So, how about you fill your next few days with outdoor activities! Here are a few suggestions:

Friday Harbor has a wonderful place that few visitors know about,
The University of Washington Friday Harbor Laboratories. Marine biology and oceanography is the name of the game for scholars which come from all corners of the world to study our Salish Seas at this facility. Except for the yearly open house, few visit the labs. They are a real scientific facility with a research vessel, labs, residential housing, and pumped in saltwater to keep the marine residents healthy.
