A lifelong Washingtonian, I graduated cum laude from the University of Washington. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in business with dual majors in marketing and business management. Prior to starting my career in real estate, I acquired over six years experience in marketing for architecture and engineering firms specializing in industries including residential, commercial, and industrial land development. My husband and I moved to Friday Harbor to start our family. As a second generation islander, Travis and I were immersed in family life returning to the place his mother, sister, nieces and nephews call home. We re-established our roots: Travis started San Juan Property Management offering vacation rental management and I joined a local real estate office and resumed my career in real estate. Expecting a new arrival in our life we decided to make some changes to our work strategy. Noticing a distinct need for services geared towards second home buyers, we re-tooled San Juan Property Management to offer and meet the specific needs of the second home owner market. Now as a family owned and operated business, I provide our clients with sales and leasing services while Travis manages the vacation rental operations. We now have our first son, Bo, and life couldn’t be better. What do we do for fun? Well we haven’t purchased a boat yet…we seem to keep buying real estate! A brief summary of my real estate experience includes: personally purchased 5 primary residences; own and manage 11 rental properties including condominiums, single family residential, and commercial properties; own 2 second homes that produce seasonal vacation rental income; have been involved in Washington real estate transactions in King, Snohomish, Pierce, Thurston, San Juan, and Douglas counties; transactions include new construction, single family residential resale, multifamily, vacant land, condominiums, and business opportunities; have successfully acquired foreclosures for clients through HUD and sold pre-foreclosure properties. You don’t want to see a lot of changes in the islands – the quaintness of our surroundings is what makes us so unique and distinct. However, the new Lopez Village Market is a nice change! The new market opened a few blocks down the street from the old store in Fisherman’s Village and has many great updates and new offerings. The new store feels much larger with spacious, well marked isle ways which makes it easy to find what you’re looking for. The addition of Bonnie’s Deli is great – with seating and even a fireplace – and convenient as I’ve eaten there several times. On my last visit they were installing WiFi – YES! And oh, did I mention the great wine selection – a must have for any island market! The new store even has a gas pump – now we’re talking about a one-stop shop!
The new market is a great upgrade on Lopez Island and is complimented by their friendly staff. Not sure how convenient it is to the boating community, but it’s great for islanders and touring visitors. Decent hours…open 8am to 8pm 7 days a week.
